2008 Election Tests
American People More Than Candidates
November 4, 2008
As with every
election, all of the emphasis is placed upon the candidates and the
campaign promises they will soon break. But in America, where the
people are the government, either the problem or the solution to
every challenge, the outcome of an election tells us much more about the
people than about the candidates.
Politicians are
pander-bears. To win elections and gain power, they must assess what
it is the people want to hear and pander to that will. Whichever
candidate best assesses and panders to the will of the majority wins
power. It’s little more than a beauty contest at the end of the day.
The People’s Moral Clarity in 2008
Those who still believe
in the founding American principles of an unalienable God-given right to
Life, individual Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness, via 232 year old
free market mechanisms, will stand in the voting booth and cast a ballot
for John McCain and Sarah Palin; because this is the group they have
aimed their campaign at.
Those who believe that
capitalism has failed the average American, and think that it is time to
try an American version of global socialism, where resources are
confiscated from those according to their ability, and redistributed to
others according to their government-assessed “need,” will cast their
ballot for Barack Obama and Joe Biden; because this is who they are
pandering to in this election cycle.
Those who don’t
understand that their vote only counts when cast for one of these two
candidates, will either sit it out or monkey around with what they
perceive to be “lesser evil” 3rd party protest alternatives.
These folks show their
true colors by putting their already failed third party ambitions ahead
of defending liberty, freedom and the nation they falsely claim to love.
They know that a vote for anyone but McCain helps Obama become president
and they know that Obama is the worst candidate to ever seek the Oval
Office. But their third party ambitions are simply more important to
them. There’s no moral clarity here and nothing American about it, but
they don’t care.
The People’s Intelligence
Unfortunately, most
Americans are only as smart as the information they glean from news
outlets that have been promoting Democratic Socialism for decades now.
“Man on the street” interviews, often intended as late-night jokes by
Leno, Letterman or Stern, are really a sad demonstration of just how
ill-informed the average American voter is today, thanks to the
Obama Media and left-wing academia who have been dumbing down American
voters for years now.
It’s astounding how
many Americans can’t name the current president or vice president, much
less tell you which vice-presidential candidate is running with which
presidential candidate, or what any of them actually stand for.
No wonder they have no
idea which branch of government controls the purse strings and which
branch is the only one empowered to “make law.” Yet these are the folks
who will take off work (or classes) to decide who the next leader of the
free world will be.
This is exactly why our
founders originally limited voting rights to land-owners. They knew that
protecting and preserving the right of self-governance required people
capable of personal self-governance. They knew that people incapable of
personal self-governance would one day vote for something else...
Something much less.
The People’s Sense of Smell
Americans used to be
able to smell an anti-American rat from a thousand miles away, as in the
case of Hitler, Stalin, Lenin and Marx. But today, they can’t smell a
well-documented anti-American communist Arab right under their noses.
They know his name is
Barack Hussein Obama, and that all three names are Arab-Muslim names,
not African-American names. They know that Obama has as many terrorist
friends and Osama. They know that Obama has spent twenty months running
from his past, his birth records, his college records, his campaign
funding records and all of his life-long friendships are still under
lock and key less than 24 hours before the most critical election in
modern history.
And they can’t smell a
thing! They see ACORN committing massive voter fraud, Obama raising
record sums of illegal campaign money, his numerous nefarious friends
over an extended period, and a laundry list of corrupt stories about
this guy, and yet, they can’t smell anything.
The People’s Eyes
Blinded by Obama’s
Marxist promise of “free-stuff,” many Americans seem to have lost sight
of the value of “freedom.”
Obama’s promise to
strip half of Americans of their earned property and redistribute it to
his campaign constituents seems to have captured the imagination of too
many Americans who subscribe to the Democrat “something for nothing”
mindset.
No mountain of evidence
that suggests this man is the worst presidential candidate in U.S.
history is even visible to them. All they can see is Obama’s big money
tree planted in their front yard and their field of vision is limited to
only that false promise.
A Test of American
Will
▪ Will Americans vote
for a culture that respects human Life, or for a culture of Death?
▪ Will Americans vote
for Freedom or Free-Stuff?
▪ Will Americans vote
for victory in the war on terror or retreat from the war on terror?
▪ Will Americans vote
for candidates with a track record of accomplishment, or candidates with
a track record of serving only themselves?
▪ Will Americans vote
for a known American hero, or a known friend to terrorist, communists
and racists?
▪ Will Americans vote
for individual Liberty, or for government control of everything?
▪ Will Americans vote
to uphold their Constitution, or to re-write their Constitution?
▪ Will Americans vote
to preserve free-enterprise, or to penalize entrepreneurs for their
success?
▪ Will Americans give
the most popular governor in America an outsider’s chance to reform
Washington DC, or will they vote for a thirty year member of the Senate
good-ole-boys club?
Among many others,
these are the decisions being made in the 2008 election.
The people will do what
we have always done in America. We will elect the next leadership of the
most prosperous, powerful and generous nation known to mankind. In a
little more than 24 hours from now, we will know what the people have
decided about the future of our representative republic.
The people will decide
to protect and preserve the founding principles and values that created
the greatest nation on earth, or they will decide to put an end to those
principles and values as they usher in a new era of Americanized
Democratic Socialism.
No matter how it turns
out, the people will have spoken and the result will be a testament to
the condition of the republic and the people of the United States.
Two politicians will
win, and two will lose. Which two ultimately win, is a statement more
about the American people than about the candidates involved.
I continue to choose
the belief that patriotic Americans still outnumber the anti-American
left in this country. I will believe that until I am proven wrong.
The 2008 election is
about America vs. anti-America. The choice has never been clearer.
232 years will make
America the longest standing self-governed society in human history. Is
232 years the best we can do? |
