Doctors v. Trial Lawyers
October 16, 2009
Trial lawyers won because they gave large donations to Obama’s campaign.
You may call HR3200 a healthcare bill; however, if the voters who are
happy with Obama’s ambiguous rambling in support of this bill would read
it in total, they would come away with a different opinion of HR3200.
Congressman Baucus is no closer to a satisfactory solution than when
this disaster was introduced several months ago. Additional changes
favor trial lawyers.
The result, should HR 3200 be passed covertly, would be a loss of most
of our hardest working and gifted doctors. The doctors who specialize
are the ones who many times have given us new procedures, inventions and
treatments for diseases which took thousands of lives. They are doctors
fully committed to their patients and the spirit of their Hippocratic
Oath. Many of these same doctors also wore the uniform of the U.S.
Military – if not on active duty, then as members of the Ready Reserve.
A skilled surgeon in a specialized area of medicine such as cardiology,
neurology, total joint replacements or oncology should not have to
tolerate the insult of earning only what a new graduate from colleges
and universities will earn.
Schools of medicine are not all of the same level of excellence, This is
demeaning and only someone lacking even a rudimentary knowledge of
medical specializations could or would entertain such a sophomoric
approach.
Doctors are far beyond the guild system of categorical labels used in
trade unions. Doctors must perform the same surgeries hundreds of times
to become experts in their field. The number of surgeries and the years
taken in honing techniques to ensure the least chance of a problem
during surgery would intimidate a less dedicated or accomplished doctor.
The specialized field of medicine comes with a high price for education
which can cost upwards of $300,000.
We, as patients, know how comforting it is to know you have placed your
life in the hands of such a physician. Do not allow the opportunistic
politicians in Washington
to destroy the excellence in doctor/patient relationship built by years
of trust, dedication to surgical diagnostics and patient care – second
to none, world-wide.
I have the good fortune to count my doctors as some of the finest in the
world. I know what losing them would mean to me and my family. I would
not be alive today to write a plea to others who have been recipients of
excellent medical care. Do not allow
Washington,
D.C. to stifle the expertise in
medicine by unionizing all who have chosen medicine as their life’s
work.
The content of the health care bill being tweaked by Senator Baucus will
decimate the number of highly qualified physicians available to us.
Congress should explain how they will provide quality care if no
specialists remain based on the ridiculous salaries proffered by HR
3200.
Why is it the politicians are always holding themselves above the laws
they force upon U.S.
citizens? If they believe we should accept this miserable government
version of health care why are members of Congress, the President and
past presidents and congress refusing to be a part of such an unfair
piece of legislation? It is evident they want their own continued
retirement and health care paid for by We the People and of a quality
far above ours.
Right now we should be ratcheting up our demonstrations condemning the
democrat brand of one-party legislation…. We have four distinct
categories of political philosophy. The health care bill being authored
in Washington
is being written mostly by legislators totally unfamiliar with criteria
pursuant to the needs for treatment and surgical remedies to improve the
overall health of our citizens. Instead, our President and Congress are
still hell-bent on authorizing health care that is certain to decrease
population in the
U.S.
Congress never misses a chance to give them selves a raise.
Congress never sacrifices for the greater good to bring down
deficit which is needed to eventually balance the national budget.
Doctors perform surgeries and treatment consistent to physicians’ oath
sometimes wait years for payment from government-run Medicare and
Medicaid. Trial lawyers and politicians get their money up front.
What the U.S. Democrat Congress is doing is dumbing down the
entire system of enacting legislation which is guaranteed to:
▪ Force doctors from their chosen specialization or from the profession
itself
▪ Force citizens to live with inadequate and substandard health care
▪ Force citizens to pay for illegals. Why? To give them instant
citizenship and instant union members which equates to thousands of
additional votes for the democrats.
▪ Penalize the best doctors for years of education and training to be
the best specialized doctors in or outside the
U.S.
Last, evaluators comprising the panel to approve or turn down a request
for a particular test or treatment regimen are not going to be
practicing medical physicians. Heading the panel is Eugenics expert Dr.
Ezekiel "Zeke” Emanuel.
Eugenics would give Dr. Emanuel a population of citizens who are capable
of being fully participating members of society. Obviously, this is a
major reason for his cost-cutting approach which will standardize pay
for doctors at the entry level. That approach does nothing to entice the
best of the best to continue healing the injured or those afflicted with
a major illness or an illness which is in terminal stage. Dr. "Zeke”
believes these cases and the elderly who can’t manage their own care
without the help of a home nurse should accept the inevitable.
The scenario above is not one that a doctor who specializes in
geriatrics would force on a family, but would try to make the elder
family members as comfortable as possible. Yet, this is not what
Obamacare is aiming for with the 111th Congress’s health
bill. These cowards came down on the side of trial lawyers because that
group has contributed nearly one billion dollars to campaigns in the
last twenty years. Most of that money went to Democrats.
The Democrats have led the pack in fighting against tort reform. I find
their reasoning to be nothing but a greedy coward’s excuse. They would
not work for 30% of their bill for services. Why would the Association
of Trial Lawyers and members of the U.S. Congress expect the men and
women in the medical profession to do so?
Again, health care isn’t health care if you don’t have doctors who are
specialists in a particular medical field. These specialists are and
absolute requirement for any successful health care system. So why is
this administration penalizing the very doctors necessary to provide
what Obamacare is purported to be giving?
Remember who is causing all of us to foot the bills for their retirement
and health care. You can say an au adieu to them one and all by voting
your conscience in 2010 and 2012. This is the only assurance we will
have so don’t waste your vote on those who have begun holding doctors
and citizens hostage for their own self serving purpose.
We the People have the power of our vote
and the strength of recall for all who sell out the electorate who sent
representatives to Washington
to serve this country and its citizens – legal citizens!
