Who Doesn't Get What?
October 11, 2008

I have despised liars and bullies all my life and the plain fact is we are locked in a financial battle with both – the president and our own congress. Having said that I’ll expand on the why – apathy and gullibility.

The American voter has gone through multiple bouts of unbridled patriotism, all out voting, to years of worsening apathy and has now arrived at the end of tolerance. We, the people are mad as Hell! We are sending a clear message to the manipulating politicians in Washington. Stop pandering to crooks on Wall Street, smarmy lobbyists and special interests. The result has been we are told WE just don’t get it – as if we are all a bunch of kindergarten dropouts!

We DO get it! We are going to be the cash cows – again because what is still missing in pending discussions is any specific penalties for the embezzlers from Wall Street who like their Enron ilk, have committed felonies not only against their own corporations as CEOs but have broken federal laws prosecutable by the US Department of Justice. Why punish Enron but not the present thieves?

The answers we are getting indicate our government still believes we do not possess the collective intellect to know that the problem exists because the Wall Street buddies in the White House and both houses of congresses failed to send a strong enough message to Enron, et al. They were allowed to slither out of adequate punishment when they committed fraud against investors and the taxpayers of America with the knowledge and assistance of our elected officials.

The cancer continues to grow because Washington bureaucrats continue to play softball and look the other way.

Washington MUST realize incumbent representatives and senators, especially those up for reelection in November are being targeted for what may be the first of many who will fall victim at the polls.

We, the people, want to see specific penalties and preventive measures spelled out in clear, concise English – not “legalese”. No loop holes, caps on all CEO salaries, perks and “golden parachutes”. Each CEO’s value must be judged honestly and reliance on complete transparency with regard to accuracy of accounting methods. Each infraction should be reflected negatively in the salary and perks for the CEO(s). Who ever sits in the catbird seat should suffer for lack of proper performance.

We do not intend to wait five years in order to allow the money trail to disappear and the perpetrators to get off with salaries, bonuses and golden parachutes intact. Can the partisan politics and realize who elects and reelects - it is the voters of this country and we have had enough!

Taxpayers no longer trust congress to clean up the mess, which they have allowed to fester through 16 years of two administrations that allowed unfettered “creative” legislation compounded by creative self service- instead of public service to their country. Many, I am certain, view their oath of office as a nuisance rather than an oath. I strongly suggest they revisit it. I know I will and I will continue in my efforts to help change the way congress has not treated the voters/taxpayers of the United States.

The number of people becoming full time activists is growing every day. We will do all we can to whittle the number of self-serving legislators in Washington because what is still being covered up could fill a public library.

We get it, Congress! Millions for defense – not one cent for tribute! How much clearer can we state it? YOU, members of congress didn’t get it! Fifty-nine percent (59%) of Americans believe in replacing the entire US Congress. God bless the diehards who never gave in and voted “NO” to any amnesty for the executives who walked away with billions before sounding the alarm. They have the gratitude of millions of Americans.
