Urgently Needed: A Republican Revival
May 20, 2009
With all the free advice flowing to the Republican Party from the main
stream media, Democrats and liberals posing as Republicans, you have to
wonder what possible interest these people have in maintaining an
opposition party, until you realize that is not their goal. Their goal
is to eliminate all opposition by denying Conservatives any voice in a
major political party. The Republican Party they foresee is no different
in core values than the Democrat Socialists but only disagrees on
methods. This creates an illusion of opposition that permits true
opposition to be marginalized and ignored.
A number of Republicans have already surrendered to the notion that
unless they adopt the liberal agenda and join the inevitable march to
fascism, they won’t partake in the spoils of victory. For example, some
Republicans accept the notion we have a troubled healthcare system and
that it is the Federal government’s role to institute reforms. In the
past, some Republicans accepted the notion we have a troubled education
system and asserted that the Federal government had a role in its reform
("No Child Left Behind”). The Federal government has no legitimate
Constitutional role in either case, but this didn’t seem to bother the
Republicans seduced by a stealth leftist agenda. These Republicans
became leftist in deeds while trying to appear Conservative in rhetoric
("Compassionate Conservative”).
The Republican Party must differentiate itself or accept permanent
status as a minority party helping to lead the country toward fascism.
We are at war for the preservation of a republic that has produced more
wealth, greater freedom and more compassion for all of humanity than any
other, past or present. We are at war to preserve the American culture
that produced that republic. We are at war against tyrants, foreign and
domestic who would snuff out every liberty we enjoy to satiate their
desire to rule unquestioned. In war, you don’t sleep with the enemy,
party with enemy or take their advice on strategy and tactics.
A Republican congress and two presidents had their chance to restore
Constitutional rule and American values. They all failed to abide by
Conservative principles that demand a limited and fiscally responsible
Federal government that adheres to the Constitution. The Republicans
were turned out of office because they became corrupted by the power of
the offices they held. Rather than undo the damage inflicted by
Democrats, they added to it. They held forth nothing but the prospect of
more irresponsible taxing and spending, government interference and
legislation to increase their own power at the expense of the people.
The best they could muster was a lesser of two evils choice for most
voters.
Let’s make it clear that the Republican Party faces an awesome array of
enemies with a propaganda machine second to none, playing to a
deliberately doped up and dumbed down populous who believe their savior
lives on Pennsylvania Avenue. They are fighting a cult that believes the
pursuit of happiness is the pursuit of pleasure to be packaged and
delivered by their elected government with payment due by someone else
at some future date. Most Americans reject the amoral liberal value
system and are looking for an echo in the political wilderness. They
have been silenced by rogue judges, political correctness,
quasi-government agencies, storm-trooper activists, a biased media,
lobbyists, a perverse popular culture and outright betrayal.
Winning issues abound but it takes a leadership that believes in those
issues and will defend them. The greatest winning issue is the
restoration of Constitutional rule and all that it entails. The liberal
mantra will be that Republicans want to return us to the "failed
policies of the past.” Liberals must not be allowed to let such
characterizations go unchallenged. They must be fought tooth and nail to
prove that it is the "failed policies of the present”, that is the
failed policies of liberals that are destroying our wealth, our
security, our standard of living, our liberty and our morality. We don’t
have to go to the past, but we do have to make a major course
correction.
It takes a very unusual person of the highest character to be given
power and then systematically act to reduce that power. It takes a
person of great humility to refrain from dictating his vision of the
ideal society and let people live as they choose to live. It takes a
person with tremendous courage to face the mob and say "that’s wrong and
we will not endorse that behavior.” The question is, do such people
exist in the Republican Party, will they take the helm, will they make
the course correction and will they resist the temptations of power? If
not, we can say goodbye to the Republican Party. |
