Divided We Stand
October 30, 2008

Give credit where credit is due. Obama is a master of rhetoric and delivers an uplifting message about what we can accomplish as Americans when we come together. He claims he is the unity candidate that will heal a mortally divided country through change. In fact, if a given chance, he claims he will change the world. Obama is also a master deceiver, concealing as much of his record as possible, even including his eligibility to become president. Fortunately, the archaeologists of truth are braving the booby traps of the Obamaniacal labyrinth to unearth the real grail of the false messiah.

Obama’s message of unity is patently false and a practical impossibility.

A majority in congress supported the war in Iraq, but Obama, Biden and company stubbornly pursued the course of division, denying our troops support and offering our enemies a glimmer of hope for victory. Obama, Biden and company expect support and unity for their foreign policy, but gave none when it was most critical. There will be no unity on a foreign policy that wants the world to love us through amoral appeasement versus one that wants the world to respect us through moral strength.

How do you unite people divided over the sanctity of innocent life? How do you reconcile the pro-abortionists with those who believe abortion is murder? The pro-abortion and pro-life positions are diametrically opposed and irreconcilable. I know where Obama stands on abortion and I will never unite with him on this issue. There will be no unity over the right of one person to murder another no matter what any court, congress or president decrees.

How do you unite a people divided by the choice of free enterprise and socialism? The people who believe socialism is economic tyranny and government sponsored theft are not going to abandon that belief because some demagogue calls for "change” and "unity”. People who cherish the freedom to determine their own destiny are not going to give it up because lazier or guilt-laden people will. There will be no unity between those who favor the security of servitude and those who favor the risk of freedom.

How do you unite a people divided by a belief in moral absolutes versus multicultural moral relativism? People who believe in the Judeo-Christian ethic are not going to dump God for a godless society governed by political whim, court diktats and ever changing standards of behavior. There will be no unity between the moral and the amoral or immoral.

How do you unite the proponents of lies with the seekers of truth? Leftists and Islamists alike believe in a doctrine that permits and encourages lying to achieve an end. On this, Lenin and Mohammed agree. There can be no unity between those who believe the truth will set you free and those who would rule with lies.

Obama has been a divider and that is conclusively proven by what little of his record has been unearthed. His rhetoric of unity is nothing more than sugar coating on a bitter pill, a denial of his venomous past wrapped in sweetness and kindness. How do you unite people willing to blindly follow a false-messiah with those who use reason and see a cunningly deceptive demagogue?

The only unity Obama can achieve is the illusion of unity, turning to coercion to suppress opposition. If you oppose him, you are at best "afraid of change” and at worst a "racist”. Obama’s "Truth Squads”, goon squads, ACORN nuts, in your face tactics and media mouthpieces do their best to intimidate, silence and destroy opponents. If they succeed, the illusion of unity stands.

An Obama presidency will be no different than an Obama campaign, except it will have the force of law and power of the presidency behind it. The Fairness Doctrine will be re-enacted to silence conservative voices in talk-radio, but not leftist propaganda from the television networks. Through appointments and executive orders, the FBI, IRS, ATF and a host of government agencies will be used to harass, intimidate and coerce any who dare oppose the Obama regime. The "Truth Squads” and ACORN thugs will receive additional government money to refine and pursue the tactics of disruption and in your face bullying. The media will conceal or spin every failure to deny critics a voice. Finally, and most dreadfully, I expect congress will bless us with a new wave of hate-crime thought-crime legislation that will virtually criminalize any expression of opposition.

I believe these are the "Change[s] you can count on”. For this house we call the United States to stand, we must be divided by choosing sides, and we must prevail. If we unite under Obama’s terms, we become part of the wrecking crew that will demolish this house we call the United States.
