Dr. Laurie Roth
Who Is the Real Racist in the Professor Gates Story?
July 30, 2009

We’ve all heard the endless drum roll about how horrid the Cambridge Cop James Crowley was to Black, Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates. According to Gates, Crowley was a typical white guy with a power complex, exercising racial profiling when he came to his home in response to a 911 call from a concerned neighbor.

According to witnesses who heard it all, 911 records and the report of Officer Crowley, Professor Gates started verbally attacking Crowley, saying he was racially profiling and daring Crowley to arrest him. In fact, Crowley had simply asked him to come outside and talk. According to the factual record of the event and witnesses, the only verbal abuse came from Gates toward officer Crowley, not the other way around. This event began when a concerned neighbor called 911 after seeing two men struggling to enter the house that she didn’t recognize, with luggage. She wasn’t sure if it was the owner so she wanted to report it in case there was trouble.

Trying to determine just what was going on and if the home was safe, it was entirely appropriate for Crowley to ask Gates to walk outside and ask him a few questions no matter what he said about living in the home. Even people with an IQ below plant life understand that when a cop is investigating something or stops you, you don’t start talking back or ignore an order.

To add drama to this already distorted media event, Crowley wasn’t just another cop. He was the Cop who trains other police officers in racial sensitivity. He was known and honored for his teaching and insight on the racial issue. According to his record there has never been any act of racism with Crowley, but quite the opposite.

Never mind the documented facts of the case. Why be confused by the facts? President Obama immediately said that Officer Crowley acted "stupidly.” Obama knew it must have been racism and racial profiling because the professor was, coincidentally, Obama’s friend. Never mind that the facts proved the opposite and showed that the professor was the real racist; a poor citizen who couldn’t even follow simple, calm instructions given to him by a law enforcement officer.

Nobody wants to see racism rear its ugly head. I would be the first person to shred Officer Crowley if there was any sign at all of racism. But there was not! In fact, racism can be implied of Professor Gates after viewing a YouTube video where he goes on an N-word rant against Whites. Then there is our Progressive President, who wouldn’t dream of stooping to racism, except for a few interesting quotes from his own books, Dreams from My Father and The Audacity of Hope.

Let us examine some words of wisdom and racial hope from the enlightened one from his books.

From Dreams of My Father:

"I ceased to advertise my mother’s race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.”

Oh horror of horrors...just think of some whites liking you! Here are a few more classic and inspired quotes from Dreams of My Father:

"I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother’s race.”

"There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe...and white.”

"It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.”

"I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn’t speak to my own. It was into my father’s image, the black man, son of Africa, that I’d packed all these attributes I sought in myself”

A final juicy morsel of enlightenment and change: A special quote from Obama from his other book, Audacity of Hope:

"I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”

It is so incredibly clear. It is not surprising that Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr., racist and elitist that he is, would be a friend with President Obama.

I do believe the media, President Obama and Professor Gates owe Officer James Crowley a huge apology and retraction!
