Will America Survive This Administration?
March 6, 2009
It hasn’t been but two months and President Obama and his administration
have managed to put forth Executive Orders and policies that make the
movie Nightmare on Elm Street look like Leave It to Beaver.
Where do we begin?
Obama has moved to nationalize banks and health care. He and his
administration play word games by labeling their actions partnerships
etc. but, truth be told, they could call it Pee Wee Herman’s
Financial Playhouse and it would still be the enactment of Socialism
and neo-Marxism!
Then there is the betrayal of manipulating health care criteria and
payments.
We are witnessing the payment criteria to Medicaid and Medicare go from
“safe and effective” treatment to “cost effective” treatment. The
discerning eye sees this move for what it is, a shift in coverage that
puts a target right in the middle of our senior’s heads and one that
will make treatment harder and harder to get.
With this massive economic down turn and Americans struggling to find
money, we are now forced to pay for abortions and counseling
internationally. It isn’t enough to pay for our own.
Speaking of abortions, President Obama has moved to force doctors to
provide abortions whether they want to or not. If a doctor feels that
this is a grave violation of his Hippocratic Oath and won’t give one, he
will be fired or worse. Obama warned us well before he was elected of
his position on “reproductive rights” by way of his voting record on
abortion, partial birth abortion and infanticide. Those who looked at
his record and disavowed his rhetoric understood that one of the first
uses of his bully pulpit would be to support the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA),
trumping all states rights and forcing doctors and hospitals to provide
abortions.
Then there is the tarnished shine of a once productive foreign policy.
Recently, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton pledged $900 million to
Hamas and PLO under the guise of aid for Gazan restoration. Never mind
that Hamas continues to shoot rockets into Israel on a daily basis,
literally. Never mind that Hamas’s charter calls for the non-existence
of Israel. Never mind that our friend and ally – both in the spirit of
freedom and strategically, Israel, is the one that suffers the
crosshairs of anti-Semitism and jihadi attacks, globally. We have
nothing more to give them but words even as we finance the re-arming of
Hamas through the illegitimate front of the UNRWA; financing that comes
to them on the backs of increasingly over-burdened American taxpayers.
Couldn’t that $900 million serve the people of the United States?
This week, Russia revealed a letter clandestinely sent by President
Obama promising to halt deployment of missile defense units in Eastern
Europe – a defense shield that would protect the whole of the European
Continent, if Russia would use its influence to encourage Iran to
abandon their nuclear program. Of course, Russia – seeing full well Mr.
Obama’s naiveté – responded that they would be glad to talk with him
about abandoning the missile defense shield but that they had no
interest in discussing his concerns with the Iranian despots. Bam! Obama
gets body slammed.
In all of this what do President Obama’s actions regarding the
protection of European nations say about our loyalty and commitment
to our allies in Europe? Something akin to “twisting in the wind...”
comes to mind.
So far, we have insulted Israel, kissed up to a terrorist group (Hamas),
been body slammed by a despot who talks to an imaginary mahdi in a well,
and, with the help of a goading mainstream media, insulted our most
steadfast ally in Great Britain by diminishing Prime Minister Brown’s
American media access to an Oval Office photo-op.
Not bad for only the first two months.
Additionally, Mr. Obama has acted to “repair our image” in the world by
ordering Gitmo closed, even though a report and investigation he
commissioned demonstrated – again – that there was no torture
performed at the facility and total compliance with the Geneva
Convention was executed at all times. The truth of the matter is that
the detainees at Gitmo get treated better than convicts imprisoned in
the United States. So, by all means, let’s close it!
Pay attention troops! True Americans must wake up and create a
vision!
People who believe in the Charters of Freedom – Republicans,
Conservatives, Libertarians and even some right-leaning centrist
Democrats – must act cohesively to recapture our government from the
neo-Marxists who have bamboozled their way into power. We can only do so
by re-establishing a true vision for our people based on “Life, Liberty
and the Pursuit of Happiness...” Gee, that sounds like the Constitution.
Remember that old, crusty document?
True Americans, led by Republicans – when in sane mode – have held a
vision for America that included government strong on national security.
Mr. Obama vision places more strength in talk and diplomacy, even with
the duplicitous. Actually, I agree with Mr. Obama on that point, we
should be talking to the two-faced, but from a position of military
strength and superiority like Ronald Reagan did. In watching President
Reagan talking from a position of strength we witnessed the end of the
Iranian hostage crises and that was during his first week in office! We
watched him bring down the Berlin wall and defeat Communist Russia. That
is the kind of talk that works.
This vision must include again an unwavering respect for “Life” as
mandated by the Constitution, not an apologetic “pro-choice” eugenics
plank. There is nothing to apologize for in defending worth and life at
all ages. That’s why the Founders and Framers set it to paper first
among the inalienable rights.
Our renewed vision should include a healthy respect for fair trade and
Capitalism, most favored status for countries that take advantage of the
status for opportunistic gain. This vision should be business friendly
once again; less taxation, less litigation and responsible but
constrained regulation. Open the doors to real entrepreneurs so that
enterprise and inventiveness can thrive again. That alone would heal the
economy...incentives to achieve!
This vision must include defending and bringing back manufacturing jobs
and industry from around the world so as to once again employ US
workers. We must provide tax breaks and incentives for businesses to
seek out the United States as the nation for the corporate headquarters,
as well as their manufacturing plants. We need to give business a reason
to “come home.”
This re-established American vision must be based in the Constitution,
backed by a strong commitment and Godly values. It will take discipline,
self-sacrifice and courage; courage to lead individually, when
appropriate, and courage to know when to act cohesively as a team.
It will also take intellectually integrity to understand the difference
between true balance and compromise and coercive rhetoric applied by
those who would marginalize Americanism, much like every call for
compromise that has come out of the Pelosi-Reid era of Congress. This
continued call for compromise from the Left – a faux-compromise – has
nearly cost Republicans their party and our citizenry their country.
Our
renewed vision, based in the Charters of Freedom and the philosophies
and ideology that moved our Founders and Framers to create our great
nation, must prevail if we are to preserve the Republic. And prevail it
must, beginning with the mid-term elections. |
