Barack Obama is now the President of the United States and our first African-American President. Record crowds of millions watched in the freezing cold at the history making inauguration. Millions more watched around the country and the world as we witnessed the transition of power.
While many are in ecstasy right now and in celebration mode, many more millions are not. Much of conservative media has its knickers in a twist and is writing, preaching and screaming against Obama, his vision and record!
As a national talk radio host, who fought against Obama’s campaign and was most concerned about his extremely liberal voting record, associations and socialist vision for America, I certainly understand some of the depression that has taken hold over nearly half the country! Truth be told, I wasn’t exactly hands off with Obama during his campaign. In fact, I was the one who broke the William Ayers/Weather Underground story, having done so on my radio show and in print back on Good Friday, March of 2008.

I Hope He Fails, by Rush Limbaugh, January 19th, 2009 and Pray Obama Fails, by Joseph Farah, January 19th, 2009.
Rush seems to be caught up in his usual rhetorical scheme that liberalism fails and since Obama represents liberalism, he wants him to fail for the sake of our country.
Joseph Farah, scribbled that he wants us to pray that Obama fails. Farah believes, and after quoting numerous scriptures about us praying for our leaders, that the Bible doesn’t say to submit to tyrants or evil. He obviously believes Obama is evil.
I understand we are experiencing a worldview clash and that Marxism creeps just outside the door but it is also wrong to assume the drift to globalism, socialism and immorality is laid exclusively at Obama’s feet. I do believe the first $700 billion in bailout funding pushed through and acquiesced too by Congress was done so at the hands of Bush and his staff (Christian and Republican). President Bush possessed the globalist sentiment in supporting the dogma of a “North American Union,” Super Highway and flimsy border enforcement all these years. Remember, another president prone to globalist ideology, President Bush the elder, used to talk publicly about the “new world order.” McCain and Obama also lend themselves to the globalist ideology; each was backed by their own benefactor, either Soros and/or the Tri-Lateral Commission.

Immorality and the support of Abortion, along with other evils in our culture, have been pushed for decades and are succeeding simply because too many Americans have been apathetic, lazy and distracted rather than inspired, motivated and focused!
There is a dangerous theme and push toward Internationalism, new world order, a new currency, Socialism and world government and religion. This dogma has been advanced through several administrations! Markets have been and are being manipulated, facilitating, eventually, a transition to a new currency to solve the money problem. We may see an artificial, financial relief for a little while as bail out money flys around but I predict we will see real declines by 2010.
What is the proper attitude to have with this new President?
It is time that Americans wake up, clarify their vision of America and communicate regularly with their Representatives, Senators and President. Read the Constitution and Bill of Rights and become constitutionally literate.
Let us pray for the success of Obama and staff and their protection in this dangerous world.
Let us pray that Obama will grow closer to the Lord, grow in wisdom and courage, and represent our country, as God would have him.
Let us wake up from our ‘audience like stupor’ and find our collective voice. Don’t let others do your job anymore. Be aware of state and federal issues. Know the bills coming up and communicate your thoughts regularly with President Obama and Congress.
Be aware of and ready to fight in advance of when bills that are dead wrong come up such as FOCA, Freedom of Choice Act; the Fairness Doctrine; or grabbing more bail out money and increasing taxes. Fight in an honorable and assertive way defending morality, freedom, capitalism and the Charters of Freedom (The Declaration of Independence, The US Constitution and The Bill of Rights). Be ready, issue-by-issue.
We conservatives and Republicans won’t win them all but working together, praying together and believing together might allow another group to win…Americans. Pray Obama succeeds! |
