The Tyranny of the Minority
September 30, 2009
The Diversity Czar of the
Federal Communications Commission, Mark Lloyd, believes in racial
exceptionalism. It is not enough to provide equal opportunity and a
level playing field, Mr. Lloyd desires minority supremacy and the
control of the media by “social justice” elites. Like the former White
House green jobs Czar Van Jones, whose radical statements made him a
shoo-in and a shoo- out for the new administration, Lloyd was picked
because he lives in the echo chamber of radical leftist academia and
adheres to beliefs that are so far out of the mainstream and so divorced
from reality that most Americans would demand his resignation should
they but hear them.
At the Conference on Media
Reform: Racial Justice in May 2005, Lloyd
made these statements:
"It should be clear by now that my focus here is not freedom of speech
or the press. This freedom is all too often an exaggeration. At the very
least, blind references to freedom of speech or the press serve as a
distraction from the critical examination of other communications
policies.
"[T]he
purpose of free speech is warped to protect global corporations and
block rules that would promote democratic governance."
“This... there's nothing more difficult than this. Because we have
really, truly good white people in important positions. And the fact of
the matter is that there are a limited number of those positions. And
unless we are conscious of the need to have more people of color, gays,
other people in those positions we will not change the problem.”
“We're
in a position where you have to say who is going to step down so someone
else can have power.”
Lloyd’s past statements make his political assumptions clear and we can
extrapolate further--free markets are bad, corporations are bad,
conservatives are bad, and free speech is bad, white people are bad.
Lloyd is the kind of nasty political creature Obama has surrounded
himself with, an ideologue that holds America, its people and its
institutions in contempt. Obama’s Czars constitute a shadow government
that sidesteps oversight to pursue a radical agenda as muddled as it is
destructive. Every week that passes finds part of the foundation of the
American Republic chipped away, another agency politicized, another
non-partisan body corrupted. Of all our institutions so undermined,
perhaps the most troubling is the Department of Justice under Attorney
General Eric H. Holder Jr.
The
New York Times reported in early September that “Attorney General
Eric H. Holder Jr. is reshaping the Justice Department’s Civil Rights
Division by pushing it back into some of the most important areas of
American political life, including voting rights, housing, employment,
bank lending practices and redistricting after the 2010 census.” The
article entitled ‘Justice Dept. to Recharge Enforcement of Civil Rights’
was written by the leftist author Charlie Savage. It paints the picture
of a Civil Rights Division left crippled by the Bush administration.
The
words Mr. Savage uses are clever. They insinuate a rebirth; the DOJ will
“recharge” civil rights enforcement with more staff and more
money. But Holder is not merely interested in enforcing laws and
ensuring justice. His Justice Department is being reborn as an activist
organization that will proactively seek out “injustice” as defined by
the “social justice” ideology the Obama administration is pursuing. It
is a “revival,” a spiritual awakening, in the spirit of the racist Rev.
Jeremiah Wright, the communist terrorist William Ayers and the black
supremacist New Black Panthers.
“As
part of this shift, the Obama administration is planning a major revival
of high-impact civil rights enforcement against policies, in
areas ranging from housing to hiring, where statistics show that
minorities fare disproportionately poorly. President George W. Bush’s
appointees had discouraged such tactics, preferring to focus on
individual cases in which there is evidence of intentional
discrimination.” The statistics Holder’s Civil Rights Division cherry
picks will undoubtedly reveal endemic racism deep seated at every level
“from housing to hiring,” in a new crisis of race that cries out
for “justice.” It will justify a racial exceptionalism that will make
affirmative action look mild.
Holder will not be encouraging voting reform to prevent fraud, nor will
he prosecute voting crimes with equal application under the law. He will
ensure the rules remain favorable to Democrat environs where voter fraud
is a time-honored tradition. Voter ID will officially be
“discriminatory” because minorities may not have a driver’s license, a
twisted manipulative logic used for years to stop states attempting to
prevent vote traveling and multiple voting. When voter fraud is
discovered, prosecutions will be sparse and political.
Employment discrimination regulation will be broadly reinterpreted to
revive and accelerate quotas and hiring preferences, discriminatory
practices redefined to eliminate hiring restrictions for education,
language ability and personal appearance. Employer discretion will be
restricted and regulated, with unions “co-opted” to write the new
regulatory guidelines along very socialist union lines.
Lending practices will be driven by racial preferences. The left
believes the appalling performance of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae is
unfortunate, but the unavoidable price of “lending justice.” Footing the
bill for deadbeats is our civic duty, our communitarian responsibility,
especially if they are minorities. We may even see “community
committees” organized to oversee housing issues.
The flawed results of a chaotic and corrupt census process will drive
redistricting after the 2010 census. Exploited for partisan political
purposes, the Democrats will break what few rules still limit them.
Despite scandal and disgrace and a public break, a renamed ACORN, its
affiliates, proxies and other “community organizing” groups
will have a great deal of influence on the census process. The issue
is too central to racial gerrymandering, and they will not abandon it
because of some bad publicity. Holder has ACORN’s back.
After
less than a year of Obama’s anti-American administration the damage is
extensive, after four, if left unchecked, it will be catastrophic. The
national deconstruction the left pursues is accelerating, transforming a
free market republic to a government run and government controlled
socialist state. We hang on the precipice of disaster.
We
face the tyranny of the minority, where the voice of the people is
silenced by Neo-Marxist elites that wrap their policies with moralizing
platitudes and bald-faced lies, spending away our future and frantically
spinning their crime for an increasingly skeptical electorate. Obama has
divided us as never before. November 2010 is the fork in the road, the
branch we choose could mean our renewal or our ruin.
It is a troubled time, a time where there is no easy way, no moderate
position or bi-partisan agreement that can save us from what will come
if we sit idle. It is not enough to simply hold opinions or write
letters, it is time to act, to show what “community organizing” really
is, to show in all our millions that we reject the theft of our country
and our liberty. Our children will not forgive us our timidity if we
fail to act. It is time to remember what our forefathers taught us about
sacrifice and principle, time to rekindle the spirit of a revolution
that brought greatness to our nation and freedom to untold millions
around the world. It is time to stand against the rising tide of
government tyranny and all its corruption, theft and deceit. It is time
to fight back, before the insidious socialist disease Obama and the
Democrats have delivered upon us metastasizes into America’s soul. |
