- Listening to the Democratic operatives after
electoral vote 274 was awarded one would think they hadn’t been slandering
President Bush for nearly a year. In what can be described as a grand
charade, I witnessed every left-slanted political animal verbally patting
George W. Bush on the back, congratulating him on a job well done, a good
race, a great campaign. Where just 24 hours before they were defaming the
man in every way imaginable now they hail him as a champion and infer that
"it was just politics, don’t you know.” This has to be the last great
flip-flop.
Who could have imagined Lanny Davis sitting under the glaring studio lights
of FOX News pontificating on the respect he has for President Bush? Just the
week before he was certain George W. Bush’s policies were derived of the
Stone Age and even then he insisted Bush was inept at implementing them. He
was certain the Bush tax cuts were a disaster and that another four years of
a Bush administration would be an even bigger disaster for the country. Now
Davis has respect for the president’s shrewd political abilities.
Bob Beckel, Democratic strategist and all around liberal mouthpiece,
couldn’t back off of his caustic rhetoric fast enough on November 3rd. No
longer was George W. Bush a "liar.” No longer was he an "illegitimate
president.” No longer was the Republican Party an inept gaggle of
politically inadequate buffoons. Quite to the contrary, he went as far as to
congratulate Ann Coulter, his talk show nemesis, on the conservative victory
giving the Republican National Committee credit for running a superior
campaign.
Suddenly the dogs have been called off. No longer do we hear Al Gore
screaming at the top of his lungs that President Bush is a "disgrace.” No
longer do we hear Ted Kennedy’s slanderous accusation, "The president lied
to the American people.” Suddenly, whiny pip-squeaks like Chad Clanton and
Michael Meehan are silenced, no longer offering their fractured versions of
the truth. No longer is Mary Cheney’s sexual preference "fair game” for Mary
Beth Cahill.
Instead we are hearing this nugget of disingenuous fecal-matter from the
liberal left: President Bush has to reach out to us.
Pardon me?
It should be pointed out to the self-absorbed purveyors of the ever-growing
entitlement that the liberal-left lost the election and they lost it in a
large way. They lost the presidency by over 3.5 million votes and 35
electoral votes. They lost seats in the Senate, including their minority
leader’s spot, and they lost seats in the House. They lost so badly one
needs sunglasses to shield their eyes from the overwhelming redness of the
‘election results by county’ map. They lost on every level of the national
election and that is what is called sending a message and the message is
this: the mainstream populace in the US isn’t interested in the manipulated
truths and extremist views being sold by the liberal left. They tried to
sell a billionaire and a millionaire as two "regular guys.” Even Stevie
Wonder could see through that charade.
If those on the left edge of liberalism would like some raw reality, reality
that is quite a bit more accurate than the exit polls used by the elite
media in an effort to sway the election, here it is. The political group
that has to reach out is located to the left of center – way left of center.
It is not up to the mandated Bush administration and the conservative
majority to acquiesce to the lunatic extremism of the liberal-left. It is up
to the lunatic-left to bring themselves back from the edge of the liberal
world, back toward the center where the rest of the American population can
actually see them. The majority of the American people have spoken and that
is just the way it is.
President Bush has extended an olive branch asking that the caustic
rhetoric, the lies and the politically motivated hate-speech of the
liberal-left be abandoned in favor of a nation united. We are fighting a war
against an enemy that would kill a Republican just as they would a Democrat,
a Green Party member or a Libertarian. They want to kill us because we are
Americans not because we are affiliated with one political party or another.
It is time the liberal-left get behind this effort and stops the Leftist
Vietnam Era tactics of attacking the very nation that affords them the
freedom to spout such divisiveness. Contrary to the president’s generous
offer, I would prefer driving a wedge between the Practical Democratic Party
and the Liberal Extremist Democratic Party in an effort to see the organized
extremist movement in this country go the way of the Whig.
George W. Bush may be willing to forgive those who attacked him on a
personal level this election cycle and that makes him a better man than I. I
will never forget the mantra that echoed the true disingenuous sentiment of
John Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign, "Bush lied.” That was the true lie
being told to the American public and sadly it was just one of many being
touted by the "do and say anything to attain power” liberal-left this
election cycle.
"Reach out to us?” I don’t think so.
