What If America Becomes a Third World Country?
January 23, 2010

"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.” -- Winston Churchill

Who will save the world when America becomes a third-world country? When the money lenders, the power brokers, the socialists, the communists, the Marxists and the Fascists have successfully stripped America of its wealth, its resources, its freedom and its sovereignty, where will the wealth come from to rescue the poor countries on the planet, from natural or man-made disasters? If America becomes weakened, who then will have the necessary military power to maintain planet-wide stability by the long lever of mutual assured destruction? Russia? China? Europe?

If our leaders spend us into oblivion and national bankruptcy with social programs whose only future is economic and financial collapse and we are sent reeling into the dark ages of our own making, who then will provide the humanitarian and medical aid when earthquakes, floods, mudslides, hurricanes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions and other indignities that the Earth can throw at us at any time, in any place?

If the gang of thieves that reside in that den of iniquity called Washington DC, continue to reduce our energy by putting draconian, irrational road blocks in the way of our own energy resources, energy that is the "fuel" that powers, feeds and houses a growing and prosperous nation, from whence will our wealth be derived? If they take control over our money, our food, our water, our energy and our health care, where will the entrepreneurial spirit come from that made us the richest, most powerful and most generous nation on Earth? If they take away our freedom, who then will create the wealth from which springs that power and generosity?

But let's shift gears for a moment. When does the third world start helping itself instead of always looking to the American taxpayer to bail them out? Yes, we are a generous people, but why is it we are always put in the position of having to help those nations and people who refuse to help themselves, or to prepare for the disaster any intelligent person knows is coming...sometime...somewhere...maybe next year, maybe tomorrow?

Earthquake prone areas of the tropics and torrid zones always have large loss of life in a substantial earthquake due to building collapse because of inferior materials and substandard building codes. Adobe and sand-mud-straw brick liquefy in an earthquake and lead to almost instant building collapse from the weight of roof trusses and roofing material. Poor foundations and unstable building footprints also lead to soil liquefaction and collapse. All of this is known in developed countries, but the dictators, despots and corrupt thieves that run these poor countries steal the countries wealth and keep the population uneducated and ignorant, as they are in Haiti and so many other countries in Central and South America, the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and yes, even China.

But the real culprit is big cities and high population densities. Big cities are especially vulnerable to earthquakes, fire, floods, tsunamis, hurricanes, tornadoes, disease and the man-made disaster of war. As in Port-a-Prince, where three million people reside, when the earthquake struck, a huge percentage of the buildings, including houses, collapsed all across the city, strewing the roads with impassable debris. Water, sewer, power and natural gas lines broke. There were no first responders, except the people themselves. Fire fighting was impossible, as the fire hydrants were dry.

Sanitation comes to a screeching halt and the result can be rampant disease. There is no power to operate heating and cooling equipment, or refrigeration. Broken natural gas lines feed huge fires and a city can be completely destroyed in a firestorm, if the earthquake hasn't done it already.

During war, opposing enemies don't bomb the countryside, they bomb big cities where the manufacturing plants build the machines and weapons of war and where large populations of men, women and children can be killed to bring the enemy to its knees. Need we mention Dresden, Berlin, Hiroshima and Nagasaki?

The death toll in Haiti will continue to mount into thousands upon thousands. As the weeks stretch into months, more crushed bodies will be found in the rubble. The rising stench of rotting flesh will become unbearable. It will be in their clothes and will taint the ever-rising, contaminated food they will consume. Potable water won't come from taps any more. Bottled water will be their only source of potable water for months to come. Many more will die from starvation, dehydration and disease, or just plain hopelessness.

But once again, a wealthy and generous America will rise to the occasion and provide billions in humanitarian and medical aid. Volunteers from America will pour into Haiti by the thousands to help the helpless, the hopeless and the homeless people who reside there.

In spite of this and even with all our generosity and aid, most of the world will continue to hate and envy us. They are jealous of our wealth and our standard of living. They do not understand that the reason we are powerful and wealthy and that we live so well, is because we are free, at least for now.

But what if the dream of the socialists comes true and the freedom that has led to our wealth and generosity is there no more? Who then will help the world's helpless get back on their feet?

All this will come true if Americans allow the current gaggle of corrupt geese that occupy the seats of power, at all levels of American government, to continue to lead us down the deadly path towards draconian regulations, restrictions, limitations, the collective, mediocrity, self-loathing, self destruction and finally, perpetual, mind-numbing enslavement. Somehow, someway, we don't think Americans will allow this to happen and once again the government will fear the people, instead of the other way around.
