In the global Left's ongoing war against America, they've decided to raid your refrigerator. Nowhere is the bounty of the American way or the comfort of the American lifestyle more fully demonstrated than at the supermarket, and that's the next target of the Progressives.
Thus the declaration that processed meats are a "human carcinogen" and red meats are a "probable carcinogen."
Some globalist alphabet-soup agency doesn't like what you have for lunch – not enough curry, lentil and tofu for their tastes – so it has begun the process of making American meals politically incorrect. It would be a joke, except for the fact that the current American administration and half the federal bureaucracy are secret agents for these guys.
When the United Nations head goes up the arse, American Progressives are quick to follow.
So let's review what they've said. Ham is in the same category as asbestos. Bacon is categorized with tobacco. Same thing for bologna, Italian sausage, smoked salmon, all the products in the Slim Jim family and anything shaped like a hot dog.
The WHO/UN has declared all these things dangerous. Interestingly, all these things arise from the traditional foods of Americans, Britons and Western Europeans – known collectively in the international community as "white devils." Those are the carcinogens. Now let's get to the probable carcinogens. That would be mammals.
Any creature with red meat – which would be anything that's not fish, fowl or reptile – is, according to the World Health Organization, a probable a cause of cancer.
Which, in an amazing coincidence, aligns this new study with the political priorities of militant Hindus, Muslims and vegetarians. And whatever uptight arseholes don't like hot dogs.
Plus the global warming folks, who are certain that the American diet is melting the earth into lava. Raising cows and pigs produces global-warming gasses, they say, and so is irresponsible and dangerous. And now it causes cancer.
So tell your grandfather to stop making kielbasa and your uncle to stop smoking brisket. And be prepared to turn yourself into child protective if you ever feed the kids hot dogs.
Kiss the Easter ham good bye, and there will be no more bacon with your diner breakfast.
This is an attack on the culture of America and Western Europe, and it's not very respectful of Latin America either.
And it would all be good for a laugh except that the preposterous progressive ideas of today end up being the laws of tomorrow.
And in a world – and country – where food and health care are increasingly paid for with redistributed taxpayer dollars, a "scientific" precedent has now been set for the curtailing and penalizing of diet.
If the world's umbrella health organization has declared meat dangerous and processed meat patently cancerous, how long until they are taxed extra? How long until they are removed from the rations our GIs receive? How long until the ranchers and processors and grocers who produce them taxed or regulated or scapegoated?
Is the butcher of today the cigarette maker of tomorrow?
If a company continues to produce ham or bacon or hot dogs after the United Nations declaration, is it subject to law suit and regulation from individuals and governments who now blame it for illness and death?
And what of the rancher? If red meat of any sort is "a probable carcinogen," can the ranchers of the world long escape censure and condemnation?
And when you go for your insurance physical, will you have to pay higher premiums if you like steak or sausage?
The world is increasingly in the grips of Progressives who know better than you do how to order your life. That is particularly true in Obama's America. Brick by brick they are dismantling the American lifestyle, and with it American prosperity and security.
And this is just the next step.
They've come for your wiener.
