Recession-Proof Racket

Many lament the fact that we are in a recession, in fact a recent CBS News/New York Times poll found that 81% of Americans believe that “things have pretty seriously gotten off on the wrong track.” There was a decrease in jobs by 80,000 in March and now unemployment is up to 5.1%.

 

But what if you knew of an industry that had revenues of over one billion, that’s nine zeroes, dollars and production grew by a brisk 8.5%? Would you want to be able to invest in this industry? No need to America, you already are providing a whopping 33% of this industry’s revenue.

 

So what is the result of this industry; what does it actually produce? From July 2006 to June 2007 Planned Parenthood produced 289,750 dead babies, an increase of 24,807 over the previous year. What was a very good year for Planned Parenthood was another ghastly episode in our nation’s tragic 35 year history of Roe v Wade.

 

The horrific part of this is that abortions in America actually went down but because Planned Parenthood opened more abortion factories across America, their numbers went up.

 

As an evangelical Christian I can no longer sit by and allow our government to fund an organization that is nothing more than an abortion factory, to the tune of 336.7 million taxpayer dollars. In a country that is clearly shifting to the pro-life side (2004 Zogby poll 56% oppose abortion totally or only in cases of rape, incest, or mother’s life is in danger), the outcry of government dollars going to Planned Parenthood should be deafening.

 

Sadly, it is our silence that is deafening.

 

How does Planned Parenthood address this abhorrent accomplishment? In their 2006-2007 Annual Report, CEO Karrie Galloway and the Board Chair Dick Jaffe consider abortion as something that “the promotion and defense of reproductive rights need the support of those who believe that every child should be a wanted child.”

 

Did you get that? These two smiling executives believe that if a child is not wanted it does not deserve to live!

 

Many “conservatives” bemoan the fact that we traditional evangelicals make abortion a litmus test for public service but if our elected officials will not stop this holocaust, who will?

 

We will America!

 

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

 

Remember that America? That is the Preamble to our Constitution, the reason and intent of why we formed our government. Does this Constitution pertain to the unborn child? That is the question that needs to be asked of this decaying nation. Many say that national defense is the most important issue for our nation because without we cease to exist.

 

With abortion legal in our country, how can we as a nation, one nation under God, suppose we deserve to exist?

 

Call your Senators and US Representative and demand that the government spigot be turned off immediately.

 

Planned Parenthood will be just fine; after all they still have over 660 million dollars left.
